He was born into #slavery and was a fugitive slave until #1865. While a fugitive slave, he spent time with the #Cherokee and other #nations and learned their #languages, #customs and their landscapes. Because of his knowledge, he was the perfect candidate for a US Deputy Marshall.
The Lone Ranger is said to emulate Bass but the character was always a #whiteman. #hbo #Watchmen had Reeves as part of the #storyline as the show #educated us about #slavery and the continued treatment of #Black in the #US.
